Open-Source Multi-Tool Remote
PolyCast5 is a portable, hackable multi-tool remote to control all your devices wirelessly. It utilizes five different core wireless technologies, all embedded into one easy-to-use device.
Tired of losing all your remotes? PolyCast5 has built-in infrared learning and replay capabilities, allowing you to save all your infrared remotes digitally!
Simply add the remote once using PolyCast5's infrared learning feature and your signal will be stored digitally forever. Great for TV remotes, air conditioners, projectors, or anything else!
To use it, just click on whichever signal to replay at will! All remote entries can also be categorized, named, and edited to your liking.
Pretty much exactly how it sounds from a remote's standpoint. PolyCast5 connects to devices as both a keyboard and media controller to open up some awesome capabilities.
For one, you can auto-inject keystrokes for instant typing. Anything you can do with a keyboard, you can have PolyCast5 do, but at 100X the speed.
You can get creative too since PolyCast5 has access to all typical keyboard commands such as Ctrl, Win, and Alt, combinations there of, etc. Simply type whatever script into the PolyCast5-hosted web portal, hit save, and you're good to go! Works great on Phone or PC.

With built-in MITM protection, a login pin, plus on-device encryption with per-device randomly generated portal credentials, PolyCast5 can also function as a secure offline password manager.
But that's not all! It's also complete with a classic media controller (pause play, next, etc.), page scroller, photo snapper, and PowerPoint clicker. Great for presentations! The friendly prank potential here is also pretty high thanks to selective Bluetooth pairing capabilities.
PolyCast5 devices can also come with an optional cheap add-on called a PolyPlug to control outlets!
Simply use your PolyCast5 to send an on/off command to the PolyPlug, then it will execute it using it's built-in 15A relay.
Unlike typical smart plugs, PolyPlugs don't use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to communicate, which is super slow, annoying, and short-range. (You have to take out your phone, go to settings, connect to it, open whatever brand's app, wait for it to sync, click on/off.) No thanks! They use LoRa.

- Uses 915MHz penetrating frequency.
- The range is a kilometer. Yep, you can control outlets from anywhere in your house (or neighbors houses) knowing the command was received instantly with receipt confirmation.
But wait, there's more!
Set Schedules
Select any day(s) of the week and a time (down to the second!) and the PolyPlug will execute it on loop. Perfect for setting weekly routines!
Set Modes
Activate Away Mode when you're out of town and your device will turn on and off at customizable random intervals to make it look like there is a person there.
Infinite Distance
But what if while you're out of town you realize you forgot to turn off the bedroom lamp? PolyPlugs also have Wi-Fi for even longer distance communication. Simply sync it with your network once, and you can control your outlets from anywhere in the world. (So long as you have a Wi-Fi connection.)
DIY It!
What if you're more of a DIYer and want to use a PolyPlug's built-in, superior LoRa communication for your own purposes? Don't worry, all PolyPlugs come with numerous broken out GPIOs that will spell out the command they received in binary. Simply connect an Arduino or whatever else to the pins and you're in business!
Speaking of DIYers...
PolyCast5 is fully wirelessly compatible to send commands to custom devices such as an Arduino Uno or ESP32 DevKit, all within the easy-to-use Arduino IDE ecosystem. This is done with the awesome, low-power ESP-NOW protocol built-in to PolyCast5's ESP32-C5 brain.
This is great for people who want to use their PolyCast5 to control unordinary things like self-made door openers, light switchers, robotic arms, or anything else! Let your imagination run wild.
With the firmware open-source, PolyCast5 is also expandable through external hardware. If PolyCast5 is missing a feature you want, you can add it using the broken-out I2C GPIOs.
To help with this, PolyCast5 also comes with a built-in communication terminal for sending commands to external hardware. Just click select to send!

With a committed plan to be constantly rolling out new and exciting features/improvements, PolyCast5 is able to update itself wirelessly to the latest and greatest firmware, just like a phone! This means your PolyCast5 will only improve over time. All you need is a Wi-Fi connection. (Though your phone's hotspot would work too!)
Simply connect to any network and if a new firmware version is available, you will be asked if you would like to update. It's as easy as that!
PolyCast5 also has built-in offline tools to help you with random daily tasks!

In the spirit of customizability (in addition to open-source firmware), PolyCast5 also has a large variety of user settings with more to come! This way, any user can customize haptic length, RGB lights, brightness, colors, and more!
Thanks to wireless updates, you can also expect that more tools and settings will be added over time.

If you're worried about security, you can also set a login pin with enabled secure boot and flash encryption.
Like I've mentioned, the PolyCast5 and PolyPlug firmware will indeed be open-source! With this, you can always customize your device to your liking. You can expect the repository to become public after the Kickstarter launch once the first few units have been shipped. In the meantime, you can keep an eye-out on GitHub.
