PolyCast5 Update #1 | New Selective Bluetooth Pairing, Categorization, and Apps
New Features
If you're reading this then you've signed up for the prelaunch, so thanks for your support! PolyCast5 has gotten a lot of cool new features added lately, so let's check them out.
Bluetooth Updates
Selective pairing has been added to the Bluetooth Auto Keyboard! This means you can now remember devices previously connected to on your PolyCast5 and then reconnect to them at any point (given you are in range). This can be great for switching between phone and PC for example, or connecting to other people's. ;)
In addition, updates to the PolyCast5 Auto Keyboard parsing system have been made to allow for perfect human mimics. You read correctly! You can now type something complex and specific as a person and then have it auto-translated to a PolyCast5 Bluetooth script to be replayed again exactly as typed at any given time in the future. You can play with it for yourself below! (Output would be copy-pasted into the Bluetooth scripts web portal.)
But that's not all, the Bluetooth Auto Keyboard menu has been reworked so that you can now categorize alike scripts. This makes it much easier to organize and access (e.g. you can group together passwords, media, etc.).
Deeper Wi-Fi Sniffs
Additional network information is now available when sniffing Wi-Fi frames! Whenever you sniff a beacon frame of any network, you will now get additional security information including the set authentication and key management (AKM), RSN cipher, Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), and Protected Management Frames (PMF). It will now also show the Wi-Fi version (802.11xx), useful for checking if what you're running is the most up-to-date or weak to any particular attack.
More Tools
More offline tools have been added! This includes:
- Random number generator.
- Bitcoin payment QR (digital mailbox).
- SRS planner (optimize your brain)! - More info here
- Pomodoro Timer for productivity.
Some more customizability/informational settings have also been added, most notably a new 'System Info' option to verify the running device (ensure official) as well as bring up the used NVS, SRAM, PSRAM, and total Heap (basically how much memory has been used across the device).
Of course, many bug fixes and user interface improvements have also been made for increased reliability and user experience. In addition, there is newly optimized DFM hardware with version 7 on the way!
Scheduling
PolyCast5 is still in the prelaunch phase, meaning it is not yet available for mass market.
This is mostly because PolyCast5 uses the latest, most cutting-edge ESP32-C5 chip for dual-band capabilities, which has just started being mass-produced. When this chip begins hitting typical distributors (N16R8 variant) PolyCast5 can accelerate.
In the meantime, I appreciate your patience and continued support! Be sure to stay tuned for more updates, and feel free to leave a comment below with any questions.
More awesome features and updates incoming!
