PolyCast5 Update #3 | New Offline Password Manager | Optimizations
New Features
In this update of the PolyCast5 multi-tool remote, we have some cool new features, progress updates, and optimizations. Let's check them out!
Offline Password Manager + Custom Commands
You can now use PolyCast5 to autofill passwords while remaining completely offline. This means you no longer need to worry about data leaks, losing your password manager login, or anything else. Simply say "Password" + what the password is for (e.g. Gmail), and it will be autofilled over Bluetooth via the auto keyboard like magic.
Pretty cool! And no, AI never sees your password. It merely looks for the most similar namespace and then the firmware securely extracts it from the selected index.
Additionally, you can do the same for custom commands to automate repetitive tasks. Just say "Custom" + whatever you want to do, and it'll find the pre-entered auto keyboard script and execute it for you.
For example: "My" GitHub is ambiguous. It selects your specific GitHub entry and then pulls it up!
Optimizations
While hard at work on DFM to reduce the device's market price, the entire firmware stack has also been moved to the newly released ESP-IDF v6.0.
Being open-source, this makes it way easier for anyone to edit the code running on PolyCast5 for themself, to add custom features or anything else.
Additionally, it brings many bug fixes and performance optimizations making PolyCast5 even better and take up less memory for even more features down the road.
Schedule
The official Kickstarter launch is now in reach! We've been reaching out to YouTubers and bloggers to get PolyCast5 out there, and will be ready to around launch ~May 26th. Less than two months away! Be sure you are subscribed to the Kickstarter to get the best early bird backer deal.
In addition, small production orders have been placed to produce some initial engineering samples and further test PolyCast5 in the field. This means by the time you get yours, it'll be perfect!
Thanks for your continued support, I can't wait for you all to get your hands on your very own PolyCast5!
